Which Disney Princess Would I Like to Be

For Mama Kat’s Writer’s Workshop this week I chose the prompt ‘Which Disney Princess would I like to be’. Here it is…

I did the quiz, you know, to see
Which Disney Princess I should be
Pocahontas was the name
Let me see if we are the same
What do I know about this activist?
Courageous, intelligent, a resourceful strategist
She is someone who will go ‘wherever the wind wants her to go’
Hmm I think I like her, someone I’d like to know

While I don’t mind, you know it seems

There is a great list from which to dream
So many names from which to choose
Most of them have earned their dues

Snow White is the original, The ‘Fairest of them all’.

Cinderella is the nicest one, who dreamed of that big ball
Aurora always baffled me, she is that hopeless romantic
Ariel rocked my world, getting up to all those antics
I used to wish that I was Belle, the women’s-libber of the group
Jasmine had a cool pet cat, the leader of her troupe
Tiana is determined, works hard and reaches for the sky
Mulan is one tough girl, she is not afraid to die
Merida is the Brave red head, rebellious all the way
Rapunzel, meh, what do we know? I haven’t much to say
The Frozen girls, I think we know, are the sisters two
Their love is like a beacon, there is no breaking through
Our lucky last is here now, our special Sofia
Her Amulet of Avalor, brings princess spirit from the rest
And so we come to the end, of this little dedication
It is time to recognise the gift, the quality we don’t question
The one each princess holds dear, the one of which they are fondest
It is of course, my favourite gift, that gift of just pure kindness

Hi Jen, there is a unique quality about each, but the true essence of the Disney Princess is Kindness, and this is really emphasised with Sofia the First

Very well written and so inclusive. I haven't had the pleasure of knowing each of them, but I totally agree that "kindness" is the theme. You have a wonderful gift; thank you for sharing it. And thanks for stopping by my 10th Grade Memory with your kind words.

Great post! Love the poem while describing all the princesses. Each princess really has great quality but what they have in common is their kindness and big hearts.

Thanks for taking the time to read my poem and comment. Each Princess is unique, I prefer the more modern ones who are spirited, intelligent, independent and courageous. Much better role models for our daughters.
