A Day in Our Life…
For those who I’ve only just met, let me get you up to speed. My family have just moved from Perth, Western Australia, to Manila in the Philippines. There is me – SaltyBug, it’s a pleasure to meet you. My husband SandyBug whose work brought us here. Our 4 year old boy BusyBug and our almost 3 year old girl FlutterBug. We are four weeks into our new life, so a day in our life is still evolving. But you know some things don’t change.
The kids wake up when the light filters through
Telling their GRO clock just what to do
– even though Mr Sun is well aware of the time, he is meant to ‘wake up’ and ‘rise and shine’
I can’t argue, not a tote, cos I’m usually still comatose
Until I get jumped on and snuggled in tight
By my babes still warm from being tucked up all night
(Oh what a totally divine delight)
I’m stiff as a board, do the roll and hoik, to get myself up on my feet alright.
My stiff creaking body walks slowly along, taking the stairs one by one
The kids meanwhile have flown down, probably doing cartwheels seven to one
I’m not really sure, it’s hard to say, my eyes still unfocused, not yet awake for the day.
What’s on today? Let me look – I have a special research book
Where I write my ideas and plans, to explore this very special Land
Whatever we find, whatever we see, this is one big adventure – come along with me
So get yourself comfy, grab your mug
It’s time to catch up with SaltyBug
