In all this craziness I still  want to learn to drive here. Just not on days like today. The rain is pouring – a common theme these days. The taxi is weaving through the tight tapestry of cars, trucks and motorcycles as a wave of water from the flooded road flies along beside us. Up over the window. As the children and I sit together huddled in the back seat we stare out of the window taking it all in. The damp on our skin, the rain in our hair, on our clothes. Our breath on the glass fogs up the car. It is warm and humid despite what my mind tells me it should be. Back home with grey skies and rain like this it is cold. Winter time. My mind feels confused, as does my body. Yes I will learn to drive but not anywhere crazy, not anywhere I have to search out parking. Not anywhere in rain like this.

  1. It's great snuggling on the couch, having a sleep weather. It is still hot and really humid, my hair looks…well, lets just say the shaggy sheepdog style needs to come back in fashion…
