Sunday felt like a write off. Over here, sitting idle seems so wasteful. We are here for a short time and there is so much to see and do. We feel it is an obligation to fill our minutes, our hours with something – anything that proves we are here experiencing this place completely. Honestly.
Puppy training was that morning. I brought Noodles home and after being squeezed with love by the children, he lay in his spot under the table and fell asleep. It is tough being a puppy some days.
Then we waited. We were meant to be interviewing for a driving position. When do we get a car? That’s the million dollar question. Most things here are a waiting game. Buying a car is no different. Perhaps today, perhaps tomorrow, perhaps next week. God I hope not.
We had no plans for Sunday because we were waiting to interview this person. Waiting. Again. SB is frustrated, still trying to find his place in this home on weekends. He can’t just head to Bunnings to kill a few hours and plan his next project. There is no shed to tinker in. The football played (AFL) and we were sad over Phil Walsh. Another senseless loss.
The rain was pouring down. We talked about how we need to pave the courtyard. We did this as we watched the space turn into a giant quagmire.
The person who wanted an interview has not arrived yet.
He does not show up.

Hurry up and wait. Such a familiar and frustrating recurrent phenomena.
Yes and I should use it to learn to be more patient…
